Lionel Richie is back home and recovering after checking himself into a hospital following a weekend performance in St. Louis.
A source close to the singer’s tour said the hospital visit was made out of an abundance of caution after Richie headlined The Muny’s annual summer finale concert on Saturday night. Concertgoers said the 77-year-old singer appeared to have difficulty near the end of the show and performed All Night Long while seated.
The latest health concern comes a little more than two months after Richie experienced dizziness during the opening night of his tour with Earth, Wind & Fire on June 24 in Minnesota.
After that incident, Richie postponed concerts in Columbus, Ohio, and Chicago following medical advice to rest and recover. He returned to the stage on June 30 for a performance in Pittsburgh.
Richie also has additional performances on his schedule, including rescheduled tour dates and King of Hearts shows at the Wynn in Las Vegas in October and November.
