Brady Axford opened the scoring with a 49-yard TD dash on the Lakes’ first possession. Tyler Axford ripped off a 74-yard scoring run late in the first quarter, then collected a pitch and raced in 20 yards for another score, giving Lake Linden a 24-0 lead. The Knights struggled early offensively, but found the endzone with a 15-yard Trent Martin run midway through the second quarter. The Lakes responded three plays later with a 59-yard Brady Axford scoring jaunt. Martin caught a 27-yard touchdown pass from Norway quarterback Toby Anderson to trim the Lakes’ halftime lead to 32-14. The Knights narrowed the gap to 32-20 with a 29-yard Anderson-to-Martin TD pass on their first possession of the second half. The Lakes responded quickly, as Brady Axford returned the ensuing kickoff 83 yards for a score. Norway responded in kind, as Martin then returned Lake Linden’s kickoff 78 yards for a touchdown, making the score 40-26. The Lakes pulled away with a 19-yard Blake Lebo touchdown run, and two 60-yard Brady Axford scoring runs, one set up by an Alfred Milkey interception.
