Communities across the Copper Country will celebrate Independence Day this weekend with parades, fireworks, and family-friendly activities.
Baraga County launches Lumberjack Days today with a street dance, followed on Saturday by a pancake breakfast, 5K fun run, parade, and games. In Houghton County, several communities host annual Fourth of July celebrations, with one of the largest parade routes spanning three towns—starting in Lake Linden, traveling through Tamarack City, and finishing in Dollar Bay.
South Range’s activities begin early with a flag-raising ceremony joined by veterans and the fire department. Tapiola’s festivities start at 10:30 a.m.
Keweenaw County offers parades, kids games, and music in Copper Harbor. While the community will not host fireworks or a drone show this year, the celebration will create a relaxing environment for residents and visitors. Ahmeek celebrates America’s 250th birthday at 11 a.m. in Gabe Chopp Park.
Ontonagon County also has Fourth of July events planned in Bruce Crossing, Greenland Township, and the village of Ontonagon.
