Dr. Emily Geiger will continue to lead Lake Linden Hubbell Schools as the district’s superintendent.
Earlier in the school year, Emily Geiger was brought into Lake Linden Hubbell Schools to provide the district stability at the administrative level. She will continue to grow in the role and will become the permanent superintendent and 6-12 principal in Lake Linden Hubbell Schools effective immediately.
Geiger accepted a contract with the Lake Linden Hubbell School board at its May regular meeting. Geiger took over in the fall after Craig Sundblad stepped away from the role, and the CCISD provided temporary services for several days in November.
In a statement from the board of education, members expressed excitement retaining Geiger as a leader within the building, focused on academic success and fostering a supportive learning environment.
“It is an honor to serve the Lake Linden Hubbell community. I look forward to working closely with our dedicated educators, families and students to build upon the district’s proud traditions and ensure every student has the tools they need to thrive,” Geiger said.
Geiger attended Michigan Technological University, earning a doctorate degree in 2015. Since 2012, she has worked in education at a variety of levels, from experience teaching at Gogebic Community College to leading the CCISD MiSTEM regional network.
