College Hockey
The NCAA Division I men’s hockey tournament semifinals will be played tonight. Wisconsin takes on North Dakota at 5:00. Michigan faces Denver at 8:30.
The championship game will be played Saturday.
NHL
The Red Wings host the Flyers tonight. Coverage will begin at 6:45 on 99.3 The Lift.
It’s a must-win game for Detroit to maintain any hope of making the playoffs. Ottawa still controls the final Eastern Conference wild card berth. Columbus is two standings points behind the Senators. The Wings, Islanders and Capitals are tied, three points back.
NBA
Cade Cunningham returned to the lineup, as the Pistons clobbered the Bucks 137-111 last night. Cunningham scored 13 points and added 10 assists in his return from a punctured lung. Jalen Duren led Detroit with 21 points, and Duncan Robinson added 20. None of Detroit’s starters played for more than 28 minutes. Ryan Rollins led Milwaukee with 23 points.
The Pistons have two regular-season games remaining, including tomorrow night’s game at Charlotte.
The Bucks welcome the Nets tomorrow night.
MLB
The Twins scored six runs in the first inning off Framber Valdez, and held off the Tigers 8-6 last night. Detroit mounted a late comeback, with two runs in the sixth, and four in the seventh, keyed by a two-run Geyber Torres double.
The Tigers have lost four straight, and conclude their set at Minnesota this afternoon. Jack Flaherty will start against Mick Abel. Coverage will begin at 1:15 on 99.3 The Lift.
The Brewers collected just four hits in a 5-0 loss to the Red Sox yesterday. Shane Drohan couldn’t get through the third inning, as Boston scored three times.
The Brewers have today off, and entertain the Nationals tomorrow night. Chad Patrick will start against Jake Irvin.
Brice Turang missed his second straight game with tendinitis in his left ankle. He hopes to return to the lineup tomorrow.
Steward Berroa is no longer with the Brewers. The Phillies have purchased his contract.
