College Basketball
The Michigan Tech women’s basketball suffered a 101-58 exhibition loss at Michigan State last night. The Spartans outscored the Huskies 38-6 in the first quarter. Kendall Standfest led Tech with 15 points.
College Soccer
The Northern Michigan men’s soccer team played Parkside to a 0-0 draw yesterday afternoon.
NHL
The Red Wings’ five-game winning streak ended with a 4-2 loss to the Sabres last night. J.T. Compher and Emmit Finnie scored for Detroit. John Gibson made 27 saves, and took the loss.
The Wings visit the Islanders tonight. Because of NFL football on 99.3 The Lift, coverage will begin at 6:45 on KBear 102.3.
NBA
The Pistons nearly overcame a 23-point deficit, but opened their season with a tight 115-111 loss to the Bulls last night. Cade Cunningham had 23 points and 10 assists, and Isaiah Stewart added 20 points and 10 rebounds.
The Pistons visit the Rockets tomorrow. Coverage will begin at 7:35 on 99.3 The Lift.
The Bucks kicked off their campaign with a 133-120 victory over the Wizards. Giannis Antetokounmpo scored 37 points, and nabbed 14 rebounds.
