College Volleyball
Michigan Tech lost 3-1 (21-25, 21-25, 25-22, 22-25) to Purdue Northwest yesterday. Maddie Torola had 18 kills for the Huskies, and Maddie Krieder had 29 assists.
College Soccer
Olvia Gette’s first-half goal lifted the Michigan Tech women’s soccer team to a 1-0 victory at Northern yesterday.
The Wildcats men’s team played Davenport to a 1-1 draw yesterday.
MLB
The Mariners drew first blood in the American League Championship Series last night, with a 3-1 victory over the Blue Jays. Game two will be played in Toronto tonight.
The Brewers will host the Dodgers in game one of the National League Championship Series tonight.
NHL
The Red Wings play at Toronto this afternoon. Coverage will begin at 1:45 on 99.3 The Lift. The game was moved up from this evening to avoid a conflict with the Blue Jays’ playoff game tonight.
NBA
The Pistons play their next preseason game tomorrow at Cleveland. Listen for selected Pistons broadcasts again this season on 99.3 The Lift.
The Bucks outscored the Bulls 127-121 last evening.
The Bucks wrap up their preseason schedule at home tomorrow night against the Thunder.
NFL
Josh Jacobs overcame the flu and ran for 93 yards and two touchdowns, as the Packers downed the Bengals 27-18 yesterday. Filling in for the injured Brandon McManus, Lucas Havrisik kicked two field goals.
Patrick Mahomes threw three touchdown passes and ran for another, as the Chiefs downed the Lions 30-17 in the Sunday night contest. The evening ended with a brief brawl between the teams, as Detroit safety Brian Branch sucker punched K.C. receiver JuJu Smith-Schuster in the post-game handshake line.
