A 78-year-old man has been charged with open murder following the death of a 76-year-old woman in Crystal Falls Township early Sunday.
Iron County Sheriff’s deputies were called out around 6:45, and took George Walter Kamber into custody without incident. Kamber was charged Tuesday and arraigned yesterday, with a bond set at $150,000 cash/surety.
Further details regarding the circumstances of the woman’s death have not been released, and the investigation is ongoing.
The investigation is being supported by various agencies, including Aspirus EMS, the Michigan State Police Crime Lab, the Medical Examiner’s Office, Iron County Central Dispatch, and the Iron County Prosecutor’s Office.
