- Jeffers took two from Gwinn, Jeffers 13-10 and 12-11. Janet Mattila’s two-run double in the top of the seventh scored the go-ahead runs in the opener. Elli Kuntze struck out 11 batters, including the final two Modeltowners to end the game. Gwinn’s Shawna Sundholm homered in the contest. The Jets also had to come from behind in the nightcap. Mattila doubled home the game-tying run, then scored the go-ahead run. Naomi Frahm had three of the 15 Jets hits. Sundholm was 3-for-3 a pair of doubles.

Spencer Torkelson’s double in the top of the 10th inning drove in the winning run, as the Tigers got past the Rockies 8-6 last night. Each team scored six runs over the first three innings. Detroit starter Jackson Jobe departed in the fourth, and four relievers blanked Colorado the rest of the way. Will Vest pitched the final two, and earned the win. Trey Sweeney had three hits and drove in two runs. Javier Báez had two hits and drove in four runs.
The Tigers will make-up Tuesday’s rain-out today as part of a straight doubleheader. Casey Mize will pitch against Kyle Freeland in the opener. Detroit hasn’t named a starter for the nightcap, but is expected to bring Keider Montero up from Toledo as the 27th man for today’s twinbill. Coverage will begin at 2:45 on 99.3 The Lift.
The Tigers activated outfielder Manuel Margot off the injured list yesterday, and assigned him to Toledo. They also officially released pitcher Kenta Maeda, after a disappointing tenure following a big free agent contract he signed before last season.
The Brewers dropped a 9-1 decision to the Astros yesterday afternoon. Milwaukee collected just four hits, with one of them a solo home run by Eric Haase. Quinn Priester gave up three runs over five innings, and took the loss.
The Brewers have today off, and visit the Rays tomorrow. Jose Quintana will start against Zack Littell.

In NBA conference semifinals last night…
- The Knicks shaded the Celtics 91-90. New York leads that Eastern Conference series 2-0.
- The Thunder blew out the Nuggets 149-106. That Western Conference set is tied 1-1.
