Liam Gallagher has made his feelings about Fontaines D.C. clear, dismissing the Irish rock band as a potential opening act for Oasis’ upcoming Live ’27 tour.
The Oasis frontman responded to a fan on X on October 16, saying Fontaines D.C. were not good enough and lacked strong songs. His comments followed a question about why the group had not been booked to support Oasis.
The exchange follows tensions dating back to 2024, when Fontaines D.C. members Carlos O’Connell and Conor Deegan III criticized the Oasis reunion. Both expressed concerns about nostalgia dominating the music industry instead of encouraging new material.
Frontman Grian Chatten later distanced himself from those comments, explaining that he personally loves Oasis.
Gallagher’s latest remarks came on the same day Fontaines D.C. released their fifth studio album, Dopamine Chamber.
Meanwhile, Oasis are preparing for another major tour following their successful 2025 reunion. All 42 announced Live ’27 dates have sold out, with Richard Ashcroft currently confirmed as a supporting act.
Fontaines D.C. have not publicly responded to Gallagher’s latest comments.
