Michigan Department of Transportation will switch over the M-26 Canal Road traffic light to flash mode next week.
Beginning October 28th MDOT will flip the switch and convert the traffic intersection’s signal from the normal red-yellow-green rotation to a flashing signal. The light was installed by the department to adjust driving behavior on M-26 and provide more time for drivers turning left onto Canal Road or onto the highway from the local roadway.
Starting on Thursday the signal will flash yellow for traffic traveling on the highway, and flash red for traffic entering M-26 from Canal Road.
