MLB
The Tigers dumped the Twins 7-2 yesterday. Colt Keith gave Detroit a quick start with a two-run first-inning homer. Keider Montero turned in four innings, and gave up two solo home runs. Tyler Holton earned the win with two innings of scoreless relief.
The Tigers have today off, and host the Rockies tomorrow night. Framber Valdez will start for Detroit. Coverage will begin at 6:15 on 99.3 The Lift.
The Brewers completed a three-game sweep of the Cubs with an 8-6 victory last night. Milwaukee scored seven runs over the first three innings, with help from Christian Yelich, Jackson Chourio and William Contreras. Logan Henderson gave up a run over five innings, and earned his 10th win of the season.
The Brewers also have today off, and entertain the Reds tomorrow night.
Milwaukee has sent reliever Rob Zastryzny to Nashville on a rehab assignment. He’s missed more than three months with a trapezoid muscle strain.
NFL
The NFL season opened last night with a 13-10 victory for the Seahawks over the Patriots.
The 49ers face the Rams tonight in a game that will be played in Melbourne, Australia.
