Gogebic Community College announced Tuesday that Dr. Richard Shrubb will serve as interim president starting in June, greeting new students when they enter the college’s campuses next fall.
A subcommittee of the GCC board of trustees appointed Shrubb to the position, impressed by his leadership experience, interview and prior administrative experience in higher education.
Dr. Shrubb comes to Gogebic Community College from Louisiana Tech University, where he served as a professor and graduate faculty member from 2016 to 2022. While at LTU, Shrubb helped coordinate a doctor of education program, mentored doctoral candidates and taught courses on finance, governance, law and research.
He was also a member of leadership teams at Minnesota West Community and Technical College, Terra State Community College and Southern State Community College prior to joining the team at GCC.
