Everyone knows the difference a first impression can make, and that advice holds especially true for communities attracting visitors.
The MSU Extension Office will host a community forum in late May discussing the importance of first impressions in tourism and bringing visitors to the Copper Country. The visitor and recreation industry significantly impacts economic activity in the Keweenaw Peninsula.
Lead presenter Will Cronin says the forum offers communities a chance to hear what stands out to visitors about the region, celebrate strong growth around Calumet and discuss future opportunities.
The First Impression Tourism program has helped communities such as Copper Harbor and Ionia identify community assets.
The forum will take place May 26 in the evening at the Red Jacket Ballroom inside the Calumet Theatre.
