April marks Child Abuse Prevention Month, and Treehouse Family Resources will host activities to strengthen families and help prevent child abuse before it occurs.
Throughout the month, the center plans to host a series of parent training opportunities with the Spring Training Tuesday: Parent Education Series starting tomorrow. Designed with busy families in mind, the flexible, no-cost, drop-in format allows parents and caregivers of infants and young children to join anytime from 3:30 to 6:30 p.m. on select Open Play dates.
The first session on March 31 will offer potty training information to parents, with the second session on April 14 sharing information to understand infant crying, and a third opportunity on April 28 explaining safe sleep practices.
On Friday, April 10, Treehouse Family Resources marks April as Child Abuse Prevention Month during Wear Blue Day. Families who wear blue in support of Child Abuse Prevention Month will receive free admission to Open Play from 9 a.m. to noon. Additional activities will be offered in recognition of the day.
