Daniel Caesar notched his first No. 1 on Billboard’s Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart with his fourth album, Son of Spergy, which debuted October 24 and earned 43,000 equivalent album units in its first week, including 34.1 million streams. The album also gives Caesar his first-ever leader on the Top R&B Albums chart, while also debuting at No. 4 on the Billboard 200, marking Caesar’s first Top 10 appearance on the all-genre tally. Ten tracks from the album entered the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart, led by “Who Knows” at No. 23, his highest position as a lead artist. Additionally, Caesar scored his first No. 1 on the Hot Gospel Songs chart with “Rain Down,” featuring Sampha. Son of Spergy builds on the success of Caesar’s previous releases, with his 2017 debut, Freudian, peaking at No. 16 on the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart, followed by 2019’s Case Study 01 reaching No. 10, and 2023’s Never Enough climbing to No. 6.
