In high school volleyball last night…
- Calumet got past Houghton 3-1 (25-22, 23-25, 25-22, 25-19). For the Gremlins, Lydia Williams had 11 kills, 14 assists and 3 blocks. Ellie Hainault had 8 kills and 5 blocks. Emmy Pietila logged 35 digs, and Katia Rudak finished with 19 digs and 4 aces.
- Hancock downed Lake Linden-Hubbell 3-1 (25-13, 22-25, 25-14, 27-25). Pelli Fortin had 7 kills and 8 blocks for the Lakes, and Ella Schneiderhan had 9 kills.
- Ontonagon blanked Chassell 3-0 (25-17, 25-20, 25-18). For the Panthers, Oriana Olson had 6 kills, 3 blocks, 3 aces and 2 digs. Sylvia Aho had 16 assists, 6 digs and 3 aces. Dusty Lippold had 5 kills, 3 aces and 3 digs. Elli Kuntze had 14 digs, 3 kills, 2 blocks, and 1 ace.

College Basketball
The Michigan Tech women’s basketball team plays an exhibition at Michigan State tonight.
The Huskies were picked to finish sixth in the GLIAC Women’s Basketball Preseason Coaches’ Poll released yesterday. Grand Valley State stands as the preseason favorite, with Northern Michigan second. Ferris State, Parkside and Wayne State filled out the top five. Lake Superior State was picked to finish 10th.
College Soccer
The Northern Michigan men’s soccer team plays at Parkside this afternoon.
