MDOT will perform fall inspections of the Portage Lake Lift Bridge at night this week. On Thursday, October 16th, the Michigan Department of Transportation will perform routine maintenance inspections on the Portage Lake Lift Bridge. While crews are at work, drivers should expect intermittent lane closures. Work will include cable greasing, which will require the department to lift the bridge for up to 30 minutes at a time. The Michigan Department of Transportation will schedule work to take place between midnight, 12 am to 6 am on Thursday. The maintenance inspections will impact vehicle and pedestrian travel. Please plan accordingly, the Michigan department of Transporation apologizes for any inconvenience.
