MLB
The Tigers scored five runs in the first inning, and cruised to a 7-0 victory over the Twins last night. Dillon Dingler had a single and a double, and drove in three runs. Charlie Morton gave up just two hits over six innings, and earned his first win as a Tiger.
The Tigers visit the Twins again tonight. Casey Mize will pitch against Zebby Matthews. Coverage will begin at 6:50 on 99.3 The Lift.
The Brewers’ remarkable run continued with a 10-8 comeback victory over the Reds. Jacob Misiorowski’s return from the injured list was brief. He gave up a run in the first inning, and left as Cincinnati plated seven in the second. Milwaukee stormed back, with five in the third and two in the fourth to tie the game. Christian Yelich’s second home run of the game in the sixth inning put the Crew on top. Yelich had four hits and drove in five runs.
The Brewers have won 13 straight, and play at Cincinnati again tonight. Quinn Priester will start against Zack Littell.
To make room for Misiorowski, Grant Anderson was sent back to Nashville. Milwaukee called up Steward Berroa and Tyler Black from the Sounds. They’re filling in for Isaac Collins, who is on paternity leave, and Blake Perkins, who is on bereavement leave.
NFL
The Lions host the Dolphins in a preseason game this afternoon. Coverage will begin at noon on the Voice of the Lions, 99.3 The Lift.
The Packers will visit the Colts for a 1:00 preseason game today.
NHL
The Red Wings have added some defensive depth by signing veteran free agent Travis Hamonic to a one-year contract. He skated for the Senators last season.
