There’s not much you can do with an old tube TV, cellphone with a broken screen or old printer that once hummed with faxes.
On Friday and Saturday EGLE, Great Lakes Climate Corps, and Superior Watershed Partnership will stop in the Keweenaw Peninsula to set up two E-Waste drop-off sites. The collection sites will accept DVD and VCR players, old computers , phones and tablets, tvs and computer monitors, desktop fax machines, old gaming consoles, old printers, key boards, cords, and routers.
Friday’s site will be set up at the XPRESS storage facility next to Pat’s Food’s at 56835 Station Drive in Calumet.
On Saturday, the group will set up in Houghton at the XPRESS storage facility near the Copper Country Mall.
Both collection events will run for four hours from 10 am to 2 pm.
Please do not drop off kitchen appliances or other household items. The collection will charge 5 dollars per carload.
