Reese Olson tossed five shutout innings, but left as Toronto plated five runs in the sixth, and took the loss. Detroit’s remaining three runs came in the ninth inning, with help from Spencer Torkelson’s 22nd home run of the season. The victory pushed Toronto past Detroit for the best record in the American League.
