MLB
Spencer Torkelson’s 20th home run of the season in the second inning provided all of the scoring, as the Tigers shaded the Guardians 1-0 Saturday. The bigger story was another strong outing from Casey Mize, who gave up four hits over seven scoreless innings. Brant Hurter and Tommy Kahnle completed the shutout. Detroit managed only two hits in the game, but got the one that counted.

The Brewers visit the Marlins again this afternoon. Brandon Woodruff will make his long-awaited return to the mound for Milwaukee. Edward Cabrera will start for New York.
